Lighter Catalog of TCW 1929/1930

 TCW (Treibacher Chemische Werke) was founded in 1898 in Treibach (Austria) by Dr. Carl Auer von Welsbach. After the invention and patenting of the lighter "flint" (ferrocerium), consisting of an alloy of cerium and iron, the company began producing flints in 1903 and from 1907, also manufactured lighters. Ronson Lighters Catalog, England 1938/1939

After five hours of work I have just finished to digitize the Ronson Catalog from the 1938. I must admit that it looks great. It covers the whole range of Ronson cigarette table/desk, combo and pocket lighters made that day. Approximately 150 lighters are described and illustrated in this 20-page catalog. A must have for every lighter collector!

Catalog: Lancel Lighters and Smoking Accessories, 1937

The Lancel Company was established by the Lancel Family in 1876. Initially the business consisted of one store situated near the new Opéra Garnier in Paris, France. The main group of products were smoking accessories and leather goods. In 1928 Lancel began manufacturing lighters in their own factory. In the early 1950s Lancel introduced a butane lighter of the same design as their then current petrol model. Production of lighters ceased in 1965 and Lancel focused on selling woman accessories. Catalog: Lektrolite Electric Lighters, 1936

Lektrolites were produced by the Platinium Group Co. Inc. from 1932 till late 1960s. The first patent (1,899,008) for the flameless lightning mechanism was filled on the 9th January 1933.
